Advanced Studio Art Coursework (9 hrs.)

Students are required to take advanced coursework in their concentration areas. Specific courses are to be determined in consultation with a Department advisor and will consist of the following hours.

Book Arts, Ceramics, Drawing, Intermedia, Painting, Printmaking or Sculpture (9 hrs.)

Time Based Art, Game Design, or Graphic Design (12 hrs.)

Visual Technology (24 hrs.)

Visual Technology: This number represents UNO semester credit hours after transferring and converting MCC credit hours. For further information on credit hour transfers contact a College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media or an Art and Art History Department advisor.

This cooperative program with Metropolitan Community College (MCC) allows students to declare a studio emphasis in one of the following MCC associate degree programs: Graphic Communication Art and Design, Electronic Imaging and Media Arts, Photography. or Video/Audio Communications Arts.

Following completion of 27 quarter hours of MCC requirements in one of the four MCC concentration areas listed above (equivalent of 18 UNO semester hours), students must enroll in the following capstone classes at UNO:

ART 4100 A+B Visual Technology Independent Study I (3 hrs.)

ART 4110 A+B Visual Technology Independent Study II (3 hrs.)

Some programs require prerequisite courses not included in the concentration. It is strongly recommended that students pursuing this concentration seek advisement from staff at MCC and UNO to complete individual program assessment.

* This number represents UNO semester credit hours after transferring and converting MCC credit hours. For further information on credit hour transfers contact a College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media or an Art and Art History Department advisor.
