Bachelor of General Studies with a Concentration in Political Science
Students interested in this degree must meet with an adviser in the Division of Continuing Studies. The concentration requires 30 credit hours in political science including at least nine credit hours of upper division courses, and:
- PSCI 1000 and 1100;
- PSCI 2000 or an equivalent social science research methods or statistics course is strongly recommended;
- At least one course in each of the four subfields (political theory, American politics, comparative politics, and international politics) is recommended for students planning to pursue advanced study.
The BGS degree allows an allied field option of 1-9 credit hours within the 30 hour concentration.These allied fields may include communication, criminal justice, economics, geography, history, psychology, public administration, or sociology.
