Department of Art and Art History

Enriched by the cultural diversity of our metropolitan home, the Department of Art and Art History strives for artistic excellence through discourse and engagement in the classroom and various local and global communities.  We foster critical and analytical thinking, visual literacy and creative expression, and mastery of various art disciplines to educate artists, scholars, and teachers so that they can become leaders in their chosen careers and contribute to the world through creative practice and research.  Three degree options exist for art majors: Bachelor of Arts in Art History (BAH), a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art (BASA), or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

General Education Requirements:

All students enrolled in a degree program in the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media must meet the university general education requirements.
