Minor in Gerontology

The Minor in Gerontology requires completion of 18 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all Gerontology coursework.  Admission into the program requires a 2.50 GPA.  The requirements for the Minor can be completed online or on campus.

 Gerontology Coursework:  (15 credit hours, An overall average of 2.0, No CR/NC can be applied.)

GERO 2000: Intro to Gerontology

GERO 4460: Psychology of Adult Development & Aging

GERO 4670: Programs & Services for the Elderly

 

Gerontology Electives: (9 credit hours, An overall average of 2.0, No CR/NC can be applied.)

Students choose coursework based on career objectives and interest areas and should consult with a Gerontology academic advisor for a plan of study. 

For students pursuing a career path in the Pre-Health, GERO 4450: Health Aspects of Aging is strongly recommended.
