Milo Bail Student Center

The best overview of the Student Center is its mission statement, which states:

“The Student Center is the ‘living room’ of the campus, a gathering place for the campus community and an integral part of UNO’s educational environment which augments the educational experience. The Student Center is more than just a facility; it is made up of operations, services and programs that enhance the quality of college life and help to retain students at the university. It is also a laboratory for experiential and developmental learning – providing opportunities for students to learn and practice leadership and striving to foster an appreciation for diversity, harmony and school spirit.”


Located on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center, the UNO Bookstore provides goods and services students need for their life as a Maverick – inside & outside of the classroom.  We carry a large selection of new & used textbooks, supplies & technology, UNO apparel, gifts and more.  Any revenue generated is returned to the students through services provided by the Milo Bail Student Center Business Operations.  The store is an inclusive environment; employing over 30 UNO students!

Students have the ability to charge their student account up to $1,500 each semester on ALL items in the Bookstore.

UNO Child Care Center

“Educating the University’s Youngest Students”  The University of Nebraska-Omaha Child Care Center (UNOCCC) provides  a high quality child care and early education service for university families and the community, as well as opportunities for training, research and further knowledge of the care, education and development of young children. 

The program provides for children 18 months to 5 years during the academic school year and 18 months to 12 years during the summer from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.  The center is open year-round with the exception of University closings and holidays.

Employment and work-study opportunities are available to the University’s students seeking to have experiences and training working with Early Childhood Education and Child Development. Call 402-554-3398 for more information.


UNO Food Service

UNO Food Service operates the Food Court in the Milo Bail Student Center, the Library Café in the Criss Library, the HPER Café in the HPER building, and UNO Catering.

At UNO Food Service, we strive to offer the best food options possible at reasonable costs.  We go to great lengths to be a good environmental steward.  Most of what we offer is made from scratch, in house.  Our pizza dough, marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, meatballs, parmesan chicken, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, salads, sushi, beef chili, hummus, falafel, soups, and sauces at Jasmine’s are all made in house.  That means the list of ingredients for most of our offerings is very short and does not contain extenders or preservatives. 

All of the disposable ware that UNO Food Service offers is compostable and biodegradable.  Food Service recycles tons of cardboard each week.  We recycle all of the vegetable frying oil that we use and it is transformed into biofuel.  We purchase many of the products we use from local companies, such as; Omaha Steak, Rotella, Hiland Dairy, and Conagra.

The Food Court in the Milo Bail Student Center consists of 9 different venues to offer a variety of food options.  Whether you desire to come in and find an item quickly or you have additional time to spend in the building to select one of our complete meal offerings, we have what you are looking for. 

Jasmine’s wok/stir fry station offers beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu, on a bed of sautéed vegetables, with a number of sauce options.  These items are added to of a choice of 2 different noodles, or white or brown rice.  Jasmines’ also offers egg rolls, vegetable spring rolls, and a featured entrée of the day like chicken fried rice or General Tso’s chicken.

Chuck’s offers a complete meal with all the components of a home cooked meal.  A sample of the daily menus featured here are, Chicken & Waffles with seasoned hash browns, Buffalo Chicken Wrap with seasoned wedge fries, Omaha Steak Sandwich, and over twenty other meal offerings.

At Pasado’s, we offer hand wrapped burritos, tacos, taco salads, quesadillas, and naked burritos.

Dagwood’s, offers a number of sandwiches, made to your specifications, with a variety of toppings on your choice of breads, wraps or a croissant.

At the American Grill, we offer breakfast items from 7AM to 10:30AM and then a variety of lunch items. We offer hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, grilled chicken breast, fish sandwiches, veggie burgers, portabella mushroom burgers, French fries, and sweet potato fries, to name a few of the items.

Greenfield’s is our salad bar station offering either a romaine – spinach salad mix or a spring lettuce mix.  Greenfield’s offers 15 salad toppings with a choice of 6 salad dressings.

Tomassito’s Pasta station offers 3 choices of pasta, (one of which is whole wheat), 3 types of sauces, all beef meatballs, parmesan chicken and breadsticks.

Tomassito’s Pizza offers 6 types of personal size pizzas, as well as, a specialty pizza of the day.  These items are available along with cheese bread sticks, mozzarella sticks, onions rings, Buffalo chicken wings, and Austin Blues BBQ rib tips.  We also offer flatbread pizzas several days each week.

D’café offers 2 choices of hot dogs, large hot soft pretzels, 2 choices of soup, Starbucks specialty coffees and make your own waffles for breakfast.

In our Grab & Go area, we offer pre-made sandwiches, salads, edamame salads, parfaits, yogurt, fresh fruit, hummus, falafel salads, a variety of freshly made sushi, over 60 types of beverages, and a large selection of desserts.

Both the Library and HPER Cafes offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, smoothies, sushi, bakery goods, salty snacks, beverages, and either Starbucks or Seattle’s Best specialty coffees.

UNO Catering offers a myriad of Catering Services all over campus.  If your event is for 5 to 5,000 guests, UNO Catering is well equipped to handle your special event needs.  From dropping hot or cold food and/or beverages to your designated site, to upscale events with buffet or full service, we have the food options and personnel to fit your needs.

MavCARD Services

The MavCARD is the official identification card for students at UNO.  It is the safe, easy and convenient way for students to make purchases across campus and at selected off-campus businesses.  You can make purchases with your MavCARD take advantage of the 15% savings on purchases within the Milo Bail Student Center’s Food Court, Convenience Store, Library Café and MavRec Café. 

You can deposit money and check your balance on your MavCARD by downloading our free MavCARD mobile app on your iPhone or Android device.  You can also add money in person using cash, check or credit card in the MavCARD Services Office, located on the second floor of the Milo Bail Student Center.  MavMONEY Cash to Card machines are also located across campus where you can load cash to your MavCARD.  See for additional information and a list of MavMONEY Cash to Card machine locations.

MavRIDE is a program that offers free rides on the Metro Bus System to current students, faculty and staff.  Your MavCARD is your bus pass, and is active if you are a currently enrolled student or an active faculty or staff member.  MavRIDE can be used at any time on any Metro Bus.
